Joe, Cindy, Richard, Ron and myself attended the meeting on Feb. 13th. The big information I wanted to get out to you is the idea for an ice skating social this Friday evening, March 1st, or Sunday afternoon, March 3rd at the Cary Ice House on Buck Jones Road. Cindy and I would very much like to go ice skating and floated the idea as our next social activity. Friday night they have skating from 7:45-10 PM, and 10:15 PM - 12:15 AM. Sunday they have skating from 1-4 in the afternoon. I know this is short notice because I took so long to write, but is anyone interested? I am really flexible and would love to go any of those times. If this weekend doesn't work, we can plan for the next weekend. The other social activities we talked about were bowling, pool at Bailey's in Chapel Hill, and the Morehead planetarium. Amy and Steve want to have a St. Patrick's Day party at their house March 16th. Sounds most fun. We also talked about service projects. Ron in interested in getting a group together to help with the Durham CROP walk on March 24th, maybe manning check points. E-mail him with interest. I am interested in getting another Library service afternoon together, to help out Eva Perry. There may be the opportunity to help out with the 24 hour challenge in May, a fundraiser to help raise money for teens that my school is participating in. I'm also interested in getting together a mentor type program for some of the students at my school. One of the other teachers suggested we have pizza party Saturday afternoons once a month and work on finishing work with an adult to each kid. Is anyone interested in being a mentor? Sectionals were the 22nd and 23rd of Feb. in Wilmington, and I believe Will laid down the mantle of section chair during this weekend. Congratulations Will! I have been thinking of making a new roster of our members. If you guys could e-mail your addresses, phone numbers, e-mails, etc. I can start working on that. I hope to see some of you ice skating this weekend. Our next meeting is March 13th, 7:30 at Eva Perry Library in Apex. Take care of yourselves, Heather Beiras
