TAAA Meeting Minutes March 14, 2001 7:30 pm Eva Perry Library 11 in attendance Next Meeting - Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 7:30 pm Eva Perry Library, Apex, NC Service- April 1 - Ron Epps Crop Walk Durham Ron will send out further info. April 22 - Nicolle Project Linus - (take 2) 3pm We will meet at Nicolle's (she will send directions later) and continue crocheting squares to make a blanket for chronically ill children. If you know how to crochet already and would like to contribute to the blanket, you can make squares of any size and color. We seem to be working with strong colors the most, though some pastels have been made. The contact for this project is Cindy Turner (782-6544). April 28 - Leigh Highfill (854-5539) Food Bank NC 9am - 12pm We will meet at the NC Food Bank off Tarheel Dr. just before 9am, and work for three hours then get lunch for those that want to go. This originally was to be a challenge against the local chapter's to generate publicity for us. As I am doing too much this spring, I was unable to coordinate it. At this point we will issue an invitation to other Chapters to join us, especially targeting Seniors. Dress in a fashion that can get dirty. Bleeding! During the month of March, the Durham and Raleigh area Red Cross centers are giving coupons for Chick Fil A and Buy One Get One Free Coupons for Hurricanes games. Ron Epps gave today if the tape on his arm was any indication. Will Power - Nicolle let us know about this group in Apex that fills hand decorated pillowcases with toiletries, toys and stuffed animals for terminally ill children in Triangle area hospitals. Help is needed in donations and making sure the pillowcases have the correct items. Also needed are decorated pillowcases, Social- March 18, 5pm - Hurricanes game vs. NY Islanders Meet at Will and Cindy's (782-6544) by 4pm and carpool to Arena. If you are unable to meet us at 4pm, then you can either park at the ESA for a charge or park at the Fairgrounds near the Horse Complex on Trinity Rd. for FREE! It is only a short walk to the ESA (about 5 minutes) April 14, about 7pm Dinner and a "Movie" - you know the routine, last year we bowled 75 "movies"! Dinner location will be discussed at the next meeting.
