-SERVICE-
* The sectional conference planning committee is going to hold a CAR
WASH
THIS SATURDAY to raise ever more money to help fund the conference later
this month.  Your participation, either helping wash cars or bringing
cars to be washed, is greatly appreciated.  The car wash is free, but
donations are welcome.  Details will be forth coming in the next few
days.  Watch your email for more news!  Questions may be directed to the
conference chair, Melissa Roberts, (832-8550),
<mjrober3@unity.ncsu.edu>.

* Helping out the Eva Perry library so they will like us & let us
continue to meet there - SUNDAY, MARCH 19TH, time TBD, but most likely
around 1pm.  Please contact Kathy Puetz for more information.

* EASTER EGG HUNT at PULLEN PARK - tentatively scheduled for SATURDAY,
APRIL 15TH.  (Date may change due to snow make-up days.)  Meet at 8:45am
to hide eggs.  When the children arrive, help keep them confined to the
designated area & out of trouble.  Joe B. is the contact for this.

* GLEANING - This is done through the Society of St. Andrews.  The
choices of crops are tomatoes, strawberries, sweet potatoes, and
watermelon.  The general concensus was that we would prefer to glean in
the spring or fall, so as to avoid the really hot weather.  No final
decision was made.

A SOCIAL event was proposed for February 5th - dinner (at Fat Daddy's on
Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh) and a movie.  We will meet at Fat Daddy's at
7 or 7:30.  Details will be forthcoming as the date approaches.

-SOCIAL & MISC.-
The SECTION 80 CONFERENCE will be held in Raleigh, the weekend of
February 18-20, 2000.  We will have an ALUMNI RECEPTION from 4:30-5:30pm
on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH in the hospitality room of the Holiday
Inn-Downtown Raleigh (the big round building).  Even if you do not
attend the conference, you are welcome to join us for the reception.
[If you are interested in attending the entire conference, or at least
the banquet (6-8:30pm), please contact Will & Cindy Turner as soon as
possible.]

* If you would like to do something social this weekend or any other
weekend this month, preferably in Chapel Hill area, please contact Sish
at <sgupta@bios.unc.edu>.

* The balance in the checking account is $431.39.

* Please mark your calendar.  The Petitioning Group at North Carolina
A&T State University has tentatively scheduled Sunday, April 30, 2000,
as the date of their chartering ceremony, pending all of the necessary
approvals.

Respectfully submitted,
Amy L. VanDeCar
TAAA Secretary
