Minutes of the March 25, 1999, meeting of the Triangle Area Alumni Association

Present at the meeting: Leigh, Richard S., Ron, Kathy, Will, Mark, Tommy and Amy V.

NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, April 21st, at 7pm Kathy Puetz's house

This meeting was primarily a planning meeting to come up with a calendar for the next few months.

CALENDAR

APRIL 4/16-17 - RELAY FOR LIFE. This is not an official service project for the alumni
association, but it some of the alumni will participate and all are welcome. Iota Lambda at NCSU is
coordinating this project which is the Section 80 Spring Service Project.

4/24 - CAR WASH. The alumni association will hold a car wash at the Firestone at North Hills
Mall to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse. PLEASE NOTE: The time for the car wash has
changed. It will be held from 10:30am-3pm. Shifts will be one hour long. To sign up for one or more
shifts, please contact Kathy Puetz.

MAY 5/19 - Episode 1. Raleigh Grand. This one is for the Star Wars fans in the crowd. For details,
contact Ron Epps.

JUNE 6/6 - Picnic. Jordan Lake. 1pm-6pm, with food at 2:30pm. Bring the family and come enjoy
a relaxing afternoon at the lake. Contact Leigh Highfill for more information.

6/19 - Tommy finishes school. Yay, Tommy! :)

6/26 - APO Day at the Special Olympics. Morning and afternoon sessions. This is the first day of
the Special Olympics. The plan is to work in the morning and afternoon, then have a social in the
evening. For information on the service project, please contact Cindy Turner. For information about
the social, please contact Leigh Highfill.

JULY 7/4 - Fireworks in DC. Each year, dozens of Brothers from around the country meet in DC
on Independence Day. For more information or for directions to the meeting place on the Mall,
please contact Amy VanDeCar.

Undetermined date - Food bank. Tommy will contact the food bank and set up a date.

We also discussed the possibility of doing a service project and/or social event at the State Fair this
year. The service project would involve acting as sighted guides for visually impaired fair-goers.
More information on this project will be forthcoming.
