Minutes of the February 11, 1999, meeting of the Triangle Area Alumni Association.

Present at the meeting: Leigh, Richard S., Patrick, Ron, Mike, Stan and Amy V.

NEXT MEETING: MARCH 25, 1999, 7PM LEIGH HIGHFILL'S HOUSE TOPIC: PLANNING
FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS

SERVICE * We will have a car wash on April 24th, from 9am-1pm, to raise money for Prevent
Child Abuse. Kathy Puetz is still looking for a place for the car wash. We need to get the word out to
chapters. * The Exchange Club bought a copier with last year's donation. They sent us a thank you
letter, which was passed around at the meeting. * Special Olympics - the APO day will be June
26th, morning and afternoon shifts. Contact Cindy Turner for more information.

FELLOWSHIP -- proposed events * April 17th is the grand opening of the Butterfly House at the
North Carolina Museum of Life & Science. Contact Richard S. for details. * Adventure Landing in
Raleigh or Wheels in Durham would be good locations for a social event. Adventure Landing has a
good deal for groups. No specific dates mentioned. * May 21st - Star Wars opens. Anyone
interested in going as a group?

LEADERSHIP * There was a great deal of discussion about the direction in which the TAAA is
moving. Everyone present expressed a desire to increase the number of alumni participating in
events. Suggestions of how to accomplish that goal focused on planning further in advance, and
placing more emphasis on service & fellowship events than on meetings. In accordance with those
suggestions, the next meeting will be a planning meeting for all current officers - although anyone
who would like to come is welcome to do so - to plan for the next six months. This meeting will be
held on March 25th, at 7 pm, at Leigh's house.

Respectfully submitted, Amy L. VanDeCar TAAA Secretary
