_Service Projects_
*NC Challenge*
Kathy sent out ~36 letters to baby stores, toy stores, skating
rinks, bowling alleys, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.  She heard back from
Babies-R-Us on Capital Blvd and Garner Wal-Mart.  Neither store will
donate money, but both will allow us to set up a booth to distribute
information and to solicit donations.  The Wal-Mart will give us a $20
gift certificate for use in a raffel, if we decide to go that route.
After much discussion, the group decided that we would rather do a
car wash than solicit donations.  Kathy will talk to the Garner Wal-Mart
about donating the supplies for the car wash.  Tommy will call the gas
station at North Hills about holding the car wash there.  The planned
date for the car wash will be Saturday, April 24th, with the weekends of
May 8-9 and May 22-23 as other possibilities.

*Special Olympics*
Cindy reported that the day for Brothers, friends of APO, friends
of friends of APO, and anyone else you can persuade to volunteer will be
Saturday, June 26th.  If you are interested, Cindy has the application
forms, as well as a form that will allow you to indicate the degree of
certainty you have about being able to volunteer on that day.  Brothers
>from all over the region (and a few from further away than that) will be
in Raleigh to help out.  We will volunteer on the morning and/or
afternoon shifts and have a social event that evening.

*Relay for Life*
If you are interested in participating in the Relay for Life, please get
in touch with Kathy.

*Sectionals*
The Triangle Area Alumni Association will host a reception at
Wilmington's sectionals the last weekend in February.  If you are
planning to go but have not yet registered, talk to Tommy.

*Food Bank*
Leigh will call the food bank about volunteering there.  The tentative
date for this project is February 13th.  More details will be
forthcoming at our next meeting.

_Random Notes_
Tommy brought the TAAA display from Nationals to the meeting.  We were
the only alumni association to have a display at Nationals.  :)
