Welcome back for a new year of school and APO!

I'm Jessie Bykowski, your new Section Chair. For those that don't know me, I pledged in 2001 at UMCP (Epsilon Mu). I went to grad school in South Carolina, where I served as Section 77 Chair from 2004 until the beginning of 2006. I've been back in Maryland since then, and I served as the chapter representative for Hopkins (Kappa Mu) during the last school year.

We've got some exciting things happening this year! We have a Prospect Group at UMBC that is on the verge of becoming an Interest Group. Regionals will be held November 2-4 at NC State University and hosted by Duke and UNC in addition to NCSU. Frostburg will be hosting the Section 85/86 Conference during the weekend of April 18- 20.

You should receive your Same Page publication from the National Office within the next few days if you do not have it already. Remember, pledge and initiate forms are due 10 business days after the ceremony, and charter reaffirmations and National Service Week reports are due November 15. National Service Week is the first week of November, and this year's theme is Serving Children with Disabilities.

I would like to encourage every member of this list to join the Region III Yahoo group as well. You can do that from the Region website at www.apor3.org. There is also a Facebook group for the section at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4219541458.
